Hi, I'm Danny Brown, and I'm the publisher of
dbDrumTips.com, DrumsAndCymbalsGuide.com,
and the "Drummer's Edge" e-Letter! Let me tell you
a little bit about myself...

I've been married to my wife, Peggy since 1992
and we have a son, Blair, and a daughter, Dee Dee!

I get asked a lot if I'm the same Dan Brown who
wrote the DaVinci Code Book... The answer is, No,
I'm not! That's why I go by "Danny Brown"
instead of "Dan Brown," although my friends call
me "Dan!"

Anyway, I have been playing drums since 1976! I
started out playing with just an old snare drum that
my older brother had laying around the house... I
remember this snare drum having no bottom head
and no snares, but I loved it anyway!

A year later, for my eleventh birthday, my parents
bought me a thirty dollar drum set... I literally played
the life out of it! My little set of thirty dollar drums
only lasted a little more than a year!

Thankfully, my brother gave up playing his drum set
and gave them to me... It was a 5-piece drum kit, a
brand called, "WhiteHall!" They don't make this
brand of drums anymore, and if you had the chance
to hear how bad they sounded you would know why!

My drum set today consists of a 9-piece TAMA
Rockstar in wine-red... An absolutely beautiful set
of drums!

I learned to play drums like most drummers, just by
ear! When I first started playing drums was when
disco was just getting going... I played along with the
Village People and Donna Summer! I hate to admit it,
but I like disco music... Actually, I like all types of
music...

In fact, I've also learned to play guitar, bass, and
keyboard... Even though I enjoy playing these other
instruments, drumming is my passion!

I have a lot of other interests too besides music... I
also like to spend time with my wife and kids, being
active in church, publishing my online e-letters,
teaching success principles, and selling eBooks at
my eBook Store!
